The Biomedical Engineering program is a five-year program that leads to a BS in Biomedical Engineering. The five years include a cooperative education (co-op) requirement that gives you the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom. Through co-op, you will spend up to 1 ½ years working in the leading BME industries or performing cutting-edge research in a biomedical research laboratory. You also have the opportunity to co-op internationally, either in industry, research, or by participating in service projects in an underdeveloped country. In your senior capstone experience, your task will be to solve a real-world problem that comes to you from a medical device company or from a practicing physician or surgeon.
